Introduction to TESOL

Observation Reports

After you have made a class observation, write up a 1 page report of what you saw. In your report you should indicate:

The classroom setting
Who the teacher was
Who the students were
What materials were used
What happened in the class including activities
What the goal of the lesson was, if you can tell

You may comment on the actions and behaviors of the teacher and students. Be sure to note what struck you as interesting about the class, especially the activities that seemed to you most worthy of imitation.

It may stimulate your thinking to look the Teacher Observation Form in Brown, pp. 432-434, but do not take this to the class and check it off.
